The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Accreditation is a voluntary system that measures the quality of child care centers and preschools. It is dedicated to helping programs offer high-quality learning environments for Children. As a parent, you have high expectations for your childcare provider, and so does NAEYC. NAEYC Accreditation can help you feel good about the child care or preschool program that you choose. Should you choose Evergreen, you will be choosing a center that has been recognized as meeting NAEYC's high expectations. More than 20 years ago, NAEYC created an accreditation system to improve the quality of education and care provided in programs for young children. NAEYC accreditation has become the child care industry's premier mark of quality, helping parents find the best possible early childhood experience. Of the roughly 4000 child care centers in the State of New Jersey, only six percent have been able to obtain accreditation by NAEYC. Evergreen has been accredited by NAEYC, meets NAEYC's rigorous standards and provides a safe and healthy environment for children, has teachers who are trained and have access to excellent teaching materials and offers a curriculum that is appropriately challenging and developmentally sound.

NAEYC accredited programs have demonstrated a commitment to providing a high quality program to young children and their families. This distinction is held by only 7% of all child care providers nationally and it defines a consistent deliverable in all of the areas within a child care center. The NAEYC accreditation process examines the emphasis placed on the quality of interaction between staff and children and the developmental appropriateness of the total program. The primary consideration is the nature of the child's experience, but it also reviews health and safety, staffing, staff qualifications, physical environment and administration.
